For my final Digital Humanities essay, I decided to research “Gamer Girls.” I broke my essay down into three parts: underrepresentation in the gaming industry, harassment received during online play, and the portrayal of female characters in most video games.

The essay touches on things like Anita Sarkeesian and the #Gamergate story, examples of “good” and “bad” female characters, and drastic underrepresentation of female employees in gaming studios.
